Woman with short red hair and glasses smiling, wearing a colorful patchwork dress with patterns and designs, standing in front of a dark wooden background.
A woman wearing rainbow-colored clothing and a white apron with a heron illustration standing in an art gallery with framed bird and nature artwork on the wall behind her.

I get my inspiration from the world around me, from the cheekiness of the local cockatoos, each with their own personalities to the colours and shapes of the plants in my garden.

I love to create wearable art and quilts that emphasise this whimsy and bring a smile to the faces of the people I meet

I believe that we need to recycle, and minimise waste when we create. To save our earth, we need to stop buying fast fashion that is endemic in our world.

My work is an expression of me, my love for the surreal and the unconventional and like the cockatoos: a little bit cheeky

Woman with short hair and glasses smiling, wearing a patchwork quilted apron with nature and bird patterns over a light blouse and striped pants, standing against a black background.
A white garment hanging against a backdrop of embroidered art depicting four cockatoos on a wire and a mountain with green grass and yellow flowers in the foreground.

Her Heart

GPO Box 2525
Melbourne Victoria 3001
Australia

Heart disease is the number one killer of women and yet most of us believe this is a male problem. Women are often dismissed when we list symptoms that may be heart disease to medical professionals. Why is this medical misogyny still present in our modern world?

Textile art, quilts have through history been made as a way of expressing a call to action. Fabric is tactile, flexible and a medium which can be transformed by stitch. Quilts keep us warm are useful but also are an expression of love and comfort.

I would like you to share your hearts in the form of just one simple fabric square. Each heart is to represent one woman with heart disease.  With your help I hope to get enough hearts to make a large quilt which will be displayed at quilt and craft shows across Australia and perhaps even internationally. I also plan to publish a book that will feature each heart as well as the paragraph describing the story behind each heart
